JULY 11 READING…1 CORINTHIANS 3

Paul tells us it is a sign of immaturity to be sectarian in our actions. It is the immature and carnal minded that have to follow a human being more than following Jesus. It is the immature that believes their group, or group leader, is better than any other Christ following Church, or leader. We are not in competition…we should not be building personalities that demand to be followed, revered, or even worshiped. Christian the head of a biblical church…and He should be the focus of our loyalty, love, and adoration. Someone might say, ”What about our Pastor?” Listen, your pastor will be loved and honored so much more, and so much better when you make Jesus the center of everything in your life and church. And to the pastors who propagate the idea that they are to be bowed down to, and followed without question…you gentlemen have lost sight of what it means to be a biblical servant leader. And you are not developing disciples…you are creating spiritual babies that will always need you to give them milk and change their diapers. Keep Jesus everything in your life and in His church, and their will be no need for famous personality pastors in the church.

Paul then reminds the church to avoid worldly wisdom. The world has nothing the church needs…it is the biblical church that has what the world truly needs. We don’t need the world’s wisdom, nor the world’s methods, nor the world’s philosophy, nor the world’s approval. If we were dependent on men, we would have to boast about men. In the church we are dependent upon Christ…so we boast only of Christ. We belong to Christ Jesus…and Jesus belongs to His Father.
